This afternoon, I got a call from my former patient who lives 4 hours away from my office by car. He told me that our acupuncture treatment helped him increase his testosterone level.
He has testosterone deficiency condition. He had tests performed twice that showed the level to be 190-200 ng/dl (when using the Gel for testosterone). The normal ranges should be 270-1070 ng/dl (depending on age)
He started acupuncture weekly for 8 weeks from August 15, 2009 to October 24, 2009 (and stopped using the Gel). After these treatments his reading was 220 ng/dl (still low, but improved). Because he was not comfortable with driving for such a long time for the treatments, he quit acupuncture. After 4 months, his re-testing report showed his testosterone level is now 130 ng/dl(no acupuncture and no Gel).
These results seem to show that acupuncture can help to improve man’s testosterone deficiency. But after a short-term treatment, it may go down again (un-stable).
What type of acupuncture, and which meridians are stimulated?
